Pitch-In
Pitch-In
April 21, 2025 - May 4, 2025
Pitch-In is back and happening from April 21st to May 4th!
Pitch-In is a volunteer program that helps keep our community clean. Families and individuals are invited to "pitch-in" in their own neighbourhood. Help make Strathcona County beautiful by joining in this national campaign to clean up the environment.
In 2024, Strathcona County had over 1,300 volunteers that volunteered more than 1,000 hours to help keep our community beautiful. Thank you to everyone that volunteered.
How to get involved:
- Submit a registration form to recreation@strathcona.ca
- Use your own garbage bags or register and receive them for free. Pick-up of bags will be Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Recreation, Parks and Culture Administration Office located at 2025 Oak Street (Vic Bidzinski Way), Sherwood Park.
Please note that the office is closed between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Call 780-467-2211 or email recreation@strathcona.ca for assistance.
- Please leave all bags near the entrance of a park or near a garbage receptacle so that our team is able to easily identify and collect the bags.
- Send SC a follow-up with how many bags were collected and where they were placed (i.e., near a sign, landmark or garbage receptacle). This helps our crew plan the pickups and allows us to record and celebrate your contribution!

Sherwood Park Against Hunger
Sherwood Park Against Hunger
May 24, 2025
You are invited to participate in a very rewarding event, packaging meals for well- deserved people. Together with your help, our goal is to package 75,000 meals.
Meal packaging takes place on May 24, 2025 at the OLPH Catholic Church in the basement located at 13 Brower Drive Sherwood Park. We need approx. 220 volunteers (110 per shift) from ages 6 and up to help package the meals in an assembly line fashion. It is a fun way to spend time with friends and family for a wonderful cause.
We have 2 shifts that you can choose to attend: 1st shift is 9 am-11:30 am and the second shift is 1:30 -3:00pm. Help with cleanup from 3:00 pm to 7pm will also be required.
Your presence will go a long way to change someone's life. The recipients from our last meal packaging event in 2024 were the Edmonton Inner City Soup Kitchens, Northern Canada remote communities as well as International Communities in need.
We would like to thank our major sponsors: Rotary Club of Sherwood Park, OLPH Church, OLPH Knights of Columbus, OLPH Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Rotary Club of SE Edmonton, Sherwood Park Curling Club and Russ Clamp from TD Wealth for generously donating funds for this event. Thanks also to Emmanuel Foundation/ Hope Mission, Save On Foods and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for their ongoing support as well. Thank YOU in advance for volunteering your time for this very worthy cause!
