The Sherwood Park Highland Gathering is a 100% volunteer-run event organized by the non-profit Strathcona Highland Society. The festival provides opportunities for key planning roles for volunteers throughout the winter and spring. If you are interested in planning and organizing positions check out these available openings and email us today! You can join a diverse group of volunteers who love Celtic traditions and fill the need in our region for an annual highland gathering, to promote closer ties in the community through the use of Celtic music, dance, and traditions, foster and promote community, and create a family friendly event for all to enjoy. Please note all roles require individuals who are 18+ are available for the entire event weekend including setup and take down (July 18-20th); police checks are also required. Coordinators will play key roles in the event, develop new skills and network, and enjoy free tickets to the event, merchandise draws and lunch on event days. WESeniors Strathcona is looking for a dedicated volunteer to assist with the setup of our space for programs. This is a long term, but impactful role, requiring a commitment of just 15 – 30 minutes before each program. Volunteers will play a key role in ensuring our space is set-up correctly and events run smoothly. All volunteers will receive free access to the program they are helping out with! This role is integral to the successful implementation and operation of various technological initiatives, including virtual reality experiences, digital art showcases, board communications, and other innovative projects aimed at enriching the cultural landscape of our community.
