EVAL LAB:  STRATEGIC LEARNING FOR IMPROVED DECISION-MAKING

Starts January 19, Seven Sessions | 9:00AM-12:00PM MST (ALL SESSIONS)

An opportunity to connect learning and strategy – join us for a deep dive into all things strategic learning.

With limited time, evaluation can become a peripheral part of service and program delivery – a check on the funding checklist – rather than a tool of significant value for making improvements in environments of complexity. In response to this struggle, concepts such as strategic learning have emerged as a way to integrate evaluative thinking into the work of nonprofits for improved learning and decision-making. But how does strategic learning work in practice, and can it provide a feasible and useful way of fostering learning in nonprofit organizations and collaboratives?

Over 21 instructional hours, Eval Lab participants will explore strategic learning (and related concepts) within a flexible co-learning environment, with opportunities to test them in your day-to-day work. This course takes a blended learning model, with registrants participating in online, pre-recorded learning and live sessions (over Zoom). There will also be opportunity for one on one mentorship during office hours.

WEATHER THE STORM – TOOLS AND STRATEGIES FOR NONPROFIT SUSTAINABILITY

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2 | 9:00 – 11:00AM MST

We’ve all been through a lot. The global pandemic, ongoing natural disasters, deepening financial pressures, and growing needs in our communities have made one thing clear – change is inevitable. The uncertainties that still lay before us are a powerful reminder to the leaders, volunteers, and staff of nonprofit organizations of the need to be predictive and proactive in our decision making; to build strong and resilient organizations while continuing to fulfill our missions.

Join us on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022 for Weather the Storm, a symposium co-hosted by capacity-building partners Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (ECVO), IntegralOrg, and FuseSocial. Keynote speakers will present on tools and strategies for nonprofit sustainability and preparing for uncertainty.

You’ll learn processes, best practices, and strategic considerations to help your organization respond effectively to change and disruption, adapt to unforeseen circumstances, recover from setbacks – and to seize opportunity when it strikes.
