In partnership with Strathcona County Family and Community Services we are excited to invite you to save the date for a FREE workshop in the Across the Board series, designed to help build strong, effective boards for Strathcona County non-profits.

Workshop will be on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. upstairs at the Emerald Hills Leisure Centre

Do you serve on a non-profit board and are looking for ways to improve how your board functions?

Join us for an engaging and insightful workshop: Governance and Healthy Organizations: You, Your Board & the Work.

This free event, sponsored by FCS is designed for board members of community organizations in Strathcona County, offering a valuable opportunity to strengthen your governance practices while building connections with other board members who are asking similar questions.

This workshop is a great foundation for future sessions and is a recommended pre-requisite for further workshops to be offered in 2025!

Community of Practice

Volunteer Strathcona hosts quarterly Community of Practice meetings focusing on various volunteer-related topics and discussions.

Community of Practice meeting will be on Tuesday, November 26th from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Strathcona Community Centre in Meeting Room 2 (Rescheduled meeting from October)

Topic of Discussion will be “Volunteer Codes of Conduct” and how they benefit volunteer programs in our community

Refreshments, coffee and cookies will be provided

These meetings are intended for all Strathcona County Volunteer Managers who are looking to connect with others in the community. All members of the Community of Practice gain access to our resource Google Share Drive, Meeting invitations and further resources.

So far, participants from 17 different community organizations have taken part in the Community of Practice and we are hoping to keep building the network.
