Volunteering

The Ardrossan Recreation and Agricultural Society (ARAS) is looking for volunteers for our Community Growing Patch and Committee!

The Community Growing Patch helps volunteers to learn about and practice agriculture in a cheerful community setting.

The Growing Patch is part of the Growing Committee’s long-term goal of building a passive solar community greenhouse in Strathcona County.

Both projects aim to increase community engagement and deepen people’s connections to local food systems and agriculture.

Do you love working outdoors? Do you want to learn new skills that you can apply to your own garden? Are you excited to get involved in your community? With the ARAS Growing Committee, there’s volunteer opportunities for people of all ages and abilities!

Volunteer roles include:

  • Helping to plant, weed and harvest the Growing Patch
  • Participating in educational workshops and special events
  • Getting involved with the ARAS Growing Committee Board
