National Volunteer Week 2022 – Thank You for Celebrating with Us!

National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize the impact and power that volunteerism brings to our community.  Volunteer Strathcona was so excited to celebrate with the community organizations and volunteers!  Check out some of our activities from the week below.  And if you still would like access to NVW resources, you can still find them on the sidebar.

Banner Raising and Proclamation

Along with the Deputy Mayor and Councillors, Volunteer Strathcona’s Executive Director Judy Ferguson opened the week with speeches and a banner raising in the Agora.  Deputy Mayor Parks also proclaimed the week as “National Volunteer Week”

Volunteer Appreciation Event

Volunteer Strathcona hosted 21 volunteers to be our guest at a Paint Night.  Under the tutelage of Willie Wong, participants created two works of art!  Click thru the slideshow to see more.

Selfie Contest

Volunteer Strathcona encouraged residents to come and take a selfie in front of out banner.  Residents who uploaded their photo were entered to win a gift card from Vicky’s Bistro and Wine Bar.  Congratulations to Amanda Joy for winning!
