Community Supports Program

What is the Community Supports Program?

The Community Support Program fills a community gap by connecting volunteers with vulnerable citizens in Strathcona County who may need extra support.  This program was created during the pandemic to fill this gap, but the community response has moved the program from a pandemic need to an ongoing service.

Current Services Offered:

  • Dog walking
  • Grocery shopping, pick up & delivery
  • Prescription pick up & delivery
  • Minor outdoor tasks
    • Light gardening, weeding and edge trimming
    • Small outdoor house repair

Our Community Partnerships:

  • Edmonton Meals on Wheels pick up & delivery
  • Strathcona Food Bank pick up & delivery
  • WECAN Food Box pick up & delivery

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities are very flexible and are ongoing throughout the year.  Volunteer Strathcona is always excited to discuss volunteer opportunities with you.

  • Teens 13-17 with parent consent and support
