Sherwood Park, Alberta (April 24, 2018) – The Information & Volunteer Centre for Strathcona County (IVC) is pleased to announce a new funding partnership with Pembina Pipeline Corporation. With a commitment of $10,000, Pembina will support IVC in the delivery of its upcoming fall and winter not-for-profit capacity building program in the County.
“Strong leadership in the not-for-profit sector is vital to keeping our volunteer organizations strong,” said Kirk Sutherland, Manager Athabasca District, Pembina Pipeline Corporation. “We’re proud to do our part to make sure leaders in the not-for-profit sector have opportunities to build on their skill sets and knowledge.”
IVC’s Executive Director Judy Ferguson stated that, “These funds will be used to support a series of networking sessions, intended to provide not-for-profit staff and volunteers in the County an opportunity to participate in experiential learning. In addition, we will deliver important leadership training for executive directors including such topics as fundraising to help organizations become fiscally strong.”
The Information & Volunteer Centre for Strathcona County has been fostering volunteerism in Strathcona County since 1976. We strive to provide valuable information referrals to our community members, as well as direction for non-profit and volunteer initiatives throughout the County.
