To ensure the health and safety of all involved with this project, we require that our volunteers have a clean bill of health. If at any point you develop any of the known symptoms of COVID-19, you are to inform Volunteer Strathcona immediately at 780-464-4242.

In order to protect our volunteers and ourselves, we require that volunteers agree to adhere to the precautions set in place by Alberta Health Services:
-stay home and away from others if sick or in isolation
-wash hands often, using soap and water for at least twenty seconds
-cover coughs and sneezes

-avoid travel outside Canada
-self-isolate for 14 days if returning from travel outside Canada or were exposed to COVID-19

(a) You will not be paid any form of compensation for those services by anyone and you are offering your assistance freely and voluntarily for your own reasons;
(b) You will perform the volunteer lawn-care assistances alone or with other Program volunteers;
(c) You will be solely responsible for your own safety and taking appropriate precautions to prevent harm, injuries, and damages while:
i. travelling to and from the residence where the services are requested and while you am performing the volunteer lawn-care assistance;
ii. using, operating, moving, starting, maintaining, adding fuel to, or any other activity relating to the use of your own lawn care equipment, or the lawn-care equipment of the resident you am volunteering to provide assistance for; and
(d) You will be acting solely on your own initiative and not as an agent, employee, representative, or contractor of Strathcona County or the residents who have requested lawn-care assistance.
2. You agree that in performing lawn-care activities for residents of Strathcona County that:
(a) You will not represent or hold myself out as an agent, employee, representative, or contractor of Volunteer Strathcona or any resident; and
(b) you will not engage in any activity other than lawn-care assistance for the Volunteer Strathcona LawnBusters program for Strathcona County residents, and without limiting the preceding, will not enter into any residence or other structure except as may be strictly necessary to retrieve and replace lawn-care equipment provided by a resident for that purpose, but you may elect to use your own lawn-care equipment to perform the volunteer assistance.
3. You are freely and voluntarily assuming any and all risks associated with lawn-care, fully aware and informed that lawn-care is an inherently risky activity that could give rise to potential physical and mental harm to me, up to and including injuries or damage leading to a persistent vegetative state or death.
4. In keeping with your free and voluntary decision to provide volunteer lawn-care assistance to residents of Strathcona County, you hereby:
(a) Waive any and all claims of every nature and kind whatsoever, in law, equity, or under any legislation that you, your heirs, successors, assigns, or those who might otherwise claim through me and might otherwise have had against Volunteer Strathcona;
(b) Release Volunteer Strathcona, its board members, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, at law, equity, or under legislations that you, or your heirs, successors, assigns, or those who might otherwise claim through me now or in the future might otherwise have been able to advance against Volunteer Strathcona;
(c) Agree to hold harmless and indemnify Volunteer Strathcona from any and all liability for personal and property damage, injury, death, damages, costs, charges, expenses, and interest, including legal costs and charges on a full indemnity, solicitor-client basis, for any personal or property loss, or damages to your heirs, successors, assigns, or anyone who might otherwise claim through me, arising from your decision to volunteer to perform lawn-care for residents of Strathcona County, if Volunteer Strathcona is required to take action to defend against any claim or to enforce this document.
